How to communicate tips and messages every day about health and healthy lifestyles to Santa Casa employees and beneficiaries in a playful way?

PROBLEM/NEED

The problem/need lies in the field the promotion of health and healthy lifestyles, in particular, of the staff of Santa Casa itself and their beneficiaries. It is intended to contribute to a better quality of life, promote health gains, and prevent diseases, which also indirectly contribute to the better functioning of the work environment. .

Therefore, it is necessary to encourage and mobilise employees and beneficiaries of Santa Casa to adopt healthy lifestyles, providing them with information about healthy behaviours and attitudes. This information should be transmitted in a continuous and playful way (games, quizzes, puzzles with healthy recipes, historical facts or curiosities) so that it enters the routine and is more easily appropriated by the employees and the beneficiaries.

The Health area of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa is dedicated to providing care to the needy population of the city of Lisbon, both in the preventive and curative and rehabilitation aspects. Santa Casa has eight health centres and three additional health units spread throughout the city, consisting of three mobile units dedicated to screening and health education actions in the community, from three hospitals – Sant’Ana Orthopaedic Hospital, Alcoitão Centre for Rehabilitation Medicine, Maria José Nogueira Pinto Integrated Care Unit – and a higher school of Health, the Higher School of Health of Alcoitão. The management of this area is the responsibility of the Health Sector Director – Helena Lopes da Costa.
